In this tyre comparison, we will look at two popular summer tyres: the BFGoodrich Advantage and the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2. The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 is a newer model replacing the previous Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance. Both tyres are suitable for a wide range of vehicles, offering good performance and characteristics. The aim of this comparison is to provide a summary of test results and reviews, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each tyre, and ultimately determining which performs better overall.

BFGoodrich Advantage
In various test results, the BFGoodrich Advantage achieved decent positions. In the Autobild test, this tyre ranked 18th out of 53, with its best features being comfort and dry handling. In the Autozeitung and ADAC tests, the tyre scored 9th out of 10 and 15, respectively. Fuel efficiency was one of its main strengths according to the ADAC test. GTÜ and Firmenauto tests gave the BFGoodrich Advantage 8th place out of 9 and 11 tested tyres, respectively.

Overall, the BFGoodrich Advantage offers stable driving performance and short braking distances on dry roads. Its roll comfort is also considered pleasantly quiet. However, one of its downsides is its understeering handling and extended braking distances on wet surfaces.

Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2
On the other hand, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 consistently had higher test results. It ranked 13th out of 53 in the Autobild test, with mileage, price/value, and comfort being its stand out features. In the Autozeitung and ADAC tests, it scored 3rd and 4th place. In the GTÜ and Firmenauto tests, this tyre ranked 9th out of 9 and 4th out of 11, respectively. The main strengths highlighted in these tests were dry handling, exterior noise, wet circle cornering, and wet handling.

The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 is noted for its premium profile with outstanding handling properties and short braking distances. It also scores top marks in the cost section, with a high mileage and low rolling resistance. Its only drawback is its relatively high price level.

Verdict
Considering the summarized test data and review feedback, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 seems to be the better choice overall. Its consistently higher test positions and superior handling, braking, cost-efficiency, and comfort make it a more appealing option. The BFGoodrich Advantage, while still a decent tyre, has a few weaknesses, particularly relating to wet grip and handling.
