The Semperit Speed-Life 3 tyre and the Uniroyal RainSport 5 tyre are both solid summer tyre options, produced respectively by Semperit and Uniroyal. There are however, distinct differences in their performance.

The Semperit Speed-Life 3, which succeeded the Semperit Speed-Life, scores a decent 65% in our ratings. It's notable for its effective wet braking, which it showed consistently as its best feature in Autobild and ADAC tests, where it ranked 12th out of 53 tyres and 2nd out of 15 tyres respectively. In the Autoklub C;R test, though, it performed moderately, securing the 10th place out of 19 tyres. Its strengths lie particularly in wet conditions, yet it shows some imbalance with weaknesses on dry roads, as noted in the Autoklubcr 2023 summary. Nevertheless, it's still an efficient tyre with good mileage.

The Uniroyal RainSport 5 fares slightly better with a 72% rating in our assessments. It's a summer UHP tyre, distinguished by its superior performance in aquaplaning scenarios. In fact, the feature "Aquaplaning - cross" and "Aquaplaning - longitudinal" are recurrent best features in the Autobild and ADAC tests, where it settled for the 19th and 13th positions out of 53 and 15 tyres correspondingly. It managed to climb higher in the Autoklub C;R test, ranking 5th out of 19 tyres. However, the Autoklubcr 2023 summary points out that the tyre's performance is somewhat unbalanced, with significant weaknesses on dry surfaces, and low mileage coupled with high fuel consumption potentially affecting its sustainability and environmental score.

In conclusion, both the Semperit Speed-Life 3 and Uniroyal RainSport 5 have their strengths and weaknesses. For potential buyers, the choice between these two tyres should be dictated by their specific driving conditions and demands. If dealing with wet conditions is a priority, both tyres have shown strong performance in this regard. However for dryer climates, the weaknesses of both may be worth considering.
