The Yokohama BluEarth-4S AW21, a middle segment tyre, has been tested by some of Europe's most reputable tyre-testing organizations. The tyre was first tested in 2019 and underwent two subsequent tests in 2020. The tests were conducted using different dimensions, but all tests were done for an all-year period. Out of the three tests, the Yokohama BluEarth-4S AW21 had the best result in Autoklub ČR's test in 2020, where it ranked fifth out of seven. However, it had a less favorable placement in the two tests conducted by Autobild in 2020 and 2019, wherein it ranked 23rd out of 32 and 15th out of 31, respectively, in terms of braking distance. The tyre did not win any tests outright; instead, it received an overall rating of 61%, which is not a great result for a middle segment tyre. Nevertheless, it still managed to perform well in some disciplines, as demonstrated in Autoklub ČR's test, where it emerged as the best in a particular category.
