The Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 and the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 are both UUHP summer tyres designed to provide superb performance. As we compare these two models, it's evident that each tyre has its strengths and weaknesses.
When looking at the Dunlop tyre, it is noted for its assured driving traits on wet roads, excellent aquaplaning qualities, and short dry braking distances. This tyre excelled in its aquaplaning and rolling resistance features as seen in the Sport Auto test where it ranked 5th out of 5 tyres. The downside to the SP Sport MAXX RT2 is a somewhat delayed steering response on dry pavement. Overall, the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 garnered an overall rating of 79% on our site.
On the other hand, the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 stands out for its precision steering and excellent driving dynamics. This tyre has proven to be strong in handling both dry and wet conditions.
