Winter tyre test 225/45 R18 - Autobild 2023

Autobild magazine's annual winter test has tested 54 tyre treads, both in the wet when braking from 80 km/h and in the snow when braking from 50 km/h. The result is a unique overview of models that we wouldn't normally see in tests. So let's have a look at the most complex tire test of 2023.

Above you can see the results of the Autobild 2023 225/45 R18 test performed by Autobild on a BMW 3 in 2023. This test was performed in 225/45 R18, but is applicable to other similar sizes, especially in the same tyre width (225). Bridgestone Blizzak LM-005 is the best of 54 tested tyres according to tested properties (Stopping distance on wet, Stopping distance on snow, ). Other featured tyres include Michelin PILOT ALPIN 5, Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3, Kleber Krisalp HP3; Some tyres weren't included in the test, such as Pirelli WINTER SOTTOZERO Serie III, Bridgestone Blizzak LM-001, Hankook Winter i*cept evo2 W320.
