The Kumho Ecsta HS52 is a highly regarded middle segment tyre, which has been put to the test by some of Europe's most respected tyre testing organizations. The tyre has been tested twice, once in 2022 and once in 2023, both times during the summer season, in sizes 205/55 R16 and 215/55 R17. In the 2023 Tyre Reviews test, the Kumho Ecsta HS52 was placed in the 8th position out of 13 tyres tested in its category, while in the 2023 ADAC Summer tyre test, it was placed 8th out of 50 tyres tested. Nevertheless, the tyre was still highly recommended in the Tyre Reviews test, and rated as good in the ADAC test.
In the 2022 Autobild Summer tyre tests in size 215/55 R17, the Kumho Ecsta HS52 performed even better, taking the 3rd place out of 51 tyres tested, in the braking distance test. Additionally, the tyre was rated as good and placed 6th out of 21 tyres tested in the overall Autobild test. The Kumho Ecsta HS52 excelled in the dry braking and price/value categories in both Autobild tests. Overall, based on these tests, the Kumho Ecsta HS52 has received an impressive overall rating of 82%, which is an outstanding achievement for a middle segment tyre.
