Today's text will cover a comparison of the Linglong Sport Master and the Giti Gitisport S2, both summer tyres specifically designed for Ultra-High Performance (UHP) applications. These tyres have been manufactured by Linglong and Giti respectively.
Starting with the Linglong Sport Master, this tyre does not appear to have any previous models associated with it and there isn't a newer tyre that has replaced this particular model. One of its main advantages, as highlighted by tests conducted by Autobild, is its remarkably low exterior noise, which is a recurring feature in all of its best characteristics. The Linglong Sport Master impressively placed 7th out of 50 in the Autobild test — a solid performance. Its strengths included short braking distances and dynamic, secure handling in all weather conditions. However, the disadvantages noted were its very low mileage and less comforting drive.
On the other hand, we have the Giti Gitisport S2. This tyre, made in China, also doesn't have a past model, nor has been superseded by a newer one. It ranked 19 in the Autobild test out of 50 tyres, where its superior features were observed in aquaplaning and exterior noise — similar to the Linglong Sport Master. However, it notably excelled in performance with respect to longitudinal aquaplaning. The main strengths highlighted by Autobild for the Giti Gitisport S2 included its commendable aquaplaning properties and quiet ride. On the downside, its mileage was also found to be low, and there was a delayed steering response on both wet and dry surfaces.
To summarize, while both tyres have their own strengths and weaknesses, the Linglong Sport Master does appear to have a slight edge in overall performance due to its significant position in the Autobild test in comparison to the Giti Gitisport S2. However, the Giti tyre impresses with its exceptional handling of aquaplaning. Ultimately, the choice between these two will depend on what specific characteristics a user is prioritizing when selecting a UHP summer tyre.
