The two summer tyres in question, Linglong Sport Master and Michelin Pilot Sport 5, have both shown notable strengths and weaknesses during tyre tests. Looking at data from various test sources, we provide a comparative review of these two tyres from Linglong and Michelin.
The Linglong Sport Master, a UHP tyre category, scored 64% in our rating. This tyre's most commendable features are highlighted as exterior noise during Autobild tests. Ranked 7th out of 50 tyres in the test, the Sport Master proved to have good exterior noise levels. However, it is noteworthy from the autobild 2023 text summary, that while the Linglong Sport Master offers short wet and dry braking distances and low road noise, it falls short in terms of mileage, dry handling, and comfort.
On the other hand, the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 is a UUHP category tyre with a higher score of 97% in our rating. It is the newer model replacing the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and Michelin Pilot Sport 3. Its best features are its high mileage and excellent wet performance (wet braking, aquaplaning - both cross and longitudal, and wet circle cornering), securing it the 6th position out of 50 tyres in the Autobild tests.
