Today we compare two prominent tyres in the market - the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. Both these tyres come from industry-leading manufacturers, Michelin and Goodyear respectively.
Let's start with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV. It is a summer tyre made in Poland and Spain, and earned a rating of 93% in our tests. It shows a convincing high performance level and very good safety reserves at Aquaplaning, but its sand traction is average. In the Autobild test, it stood 2nd out of 11 tyres, excelling in aquaplaning, dry handling, grass traction, gravel traction, sand traction, and wet braking.
On the other hand, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is a summer ultra-high-performance tyre made in Germany. It is the sixth iteration of its line, and was preceded by models like the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. It came out as the winner in the Autobild test out of 11 tyres and it is also rated at 93%. This tyre had the best performance in areas such as wet circle cornering, wet and dry braking, dry handling, comfort, and rolling resistance.
Based on the Vibilagare test, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV came out on top in the 1st position, while the Goodyear Eagle only managed to secure the 4th position out of 6 tyres. But in the Autobild 2025 and Autobild 2024 tests, the Goodyear tyre consistently showed excellent driving characteristics on every surface and sporty dynamic handling qualities, and proved to be a great all-rounder.
However, this doesn’t mean that the Michelin tyre is less worthy. With great features like dry handling, wet braking, dynamic handling with short braking distances on asphalt, and good reserves at Aquaplaning, it is an equally good choice for many drivers. Unfortunately, unlike its counterpart, the Goodyear Tyre, it hasn't been replaced by a newer model yet.
To sum up, for those seeking an excellent all-round performance, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 seems to be a slightly better choice. But if specific features like short braking distances, good reserves at Aquaplaning, and dry handling are more important to you, then consider investing in the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV.
