The Vredestein Ultrac Pro and the Continental SportContact 7 are both summer tyres known for their impressive performance and safety features. However, they exhibit differences in terms of strengths, weaknesses, and overall ratings. In comparison tests, their positions fluctuated, indicating their different capabilities under varying test conditions.
Manufactured in the Netherlands and Hungary, the Vredestein Ultrac Pro received a rating of 71% from our site. This tyre particularly stands out in the areas of Aquaplaning - longitudal, Comfort, and Exterior noise, where it performed exceptionally. Despite being a relatively well-rounded tyre, it did show some weaknesses such as slightly delayed steering response (autobild 2024) and satisfactory projected mileage and higher weight (autobild 2025).
On the other hand, the Continental SportContact 7, manufactured in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Portugal, tops our rating with a perfect score of 100%. This Ultra-Ultra-High-Performance (UUHP) tyre is a direct successor of the Continental SportContact 6, Continental SportContact 5, and Continental SportContact 3. It notably shines in Wet handling, Wet braking, Dry braking, Dry handling, Wet circle cornering and provides impressive sporty handling qualities under all weather conditions.
In the 'Autobild' test, the SportContact 7 achieved the first position, outperforming the Ultrac Pro which came in third place among seven tyres tested. Similarly, in the 'ADAC' and 'Die Reifentester' tests, the SportContact 7 clinched the first position, whereas the Ultrac Pro came in fifth and eighth place respectively, among a larger pool of competing tyres. This indicates the SportContact 7's consistently superior performance across different test scenarios.
Overall, while the Vredestein Ultrac Pro is a reliable candidate demonstrating good features on dry and wet road conditions, low wear, and fuel consumption, the Continental SportContact 7 impresses with its sports handling, precision in steering response, good aquaplaning properties and short dry braking distances. Therefore, for those prioritising higher performance and control under diverse conditions, the Continental SportContact 7 may be the preferred choice.
