The Yokohama Advan Sport V107, produced by Yokohama, earned a rating of 42% on our site. This summer tyre was noted for its excellent properties on dry roads, good characteristics on wet surfaces, and rather low fuel consumption. However, it did underperform in some areas, notably aquaplaning and anticipated tread life. It was positioned at 6 out of 18 in the ADAC tests and achieved the 4th place out of 50 in the Autobild tests. Highlighted features of the Yokohama tyre were its dry braking, being one of the best features in the Autobild tests.
On the other hand, the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2, manufactured by Dunlop, secured a higher rating of 72% on our site. This Ultra-High-Performance summer tyre exhibited good grip on both dry and wet surfaces, emerging as the lightest tyre in the ADAC 2020 test and showing noteworthy fuel efficiency. However, it was marked down for an average tread life prediction and increased wear. In the ADAC test, it stood at position 9 out of 18, while it came at the 13th place among 50 tyres tested by Autobild. Notably, it excelled in Cross and Longitudinal Aquaplaning during the Autobild tests.
Overall, the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 outperformed the Yokohama Advan Sport V107, achieving a higher overall rating. Nevertheless, each tyre has its strengths and weaknesses; therefore, the final decision should correlate with the specific driving needs and conditions for each user. Both tyres did not get replaced by newer models, indicating that they are still up-to-date options.
